A four-time Grammy winner and talented singer, storyteller and historian of Appalachian folk music and life, David Holt is a master of many instruments, including banjo, guitar, bottleneck slide guitar, ukulele, harmonica, jaw harp, bones, and paper bag. David is widely known as host of public television’s Folkways and public radio’s Riverwalk Jazz. His eight recordings of music and stories collected in the southern Appalachians have been critically acclaimed. His performances blend instrumental wizardry with the warmth and humor of traditional songs and folk tales.
